Raw Material and Melting

The production of large steel castings starts with material preparation. We select suitable charge materials based on the required material grade and operating conditions. The materials are inspected and cleaned before entering the furnace. This helps reduce impurities and oxides in the molten steel.
During melting and refining, we control the temperature and chemical composition of the molten steel. This ensures that the steel meets the required specifications. Stable chemical composition helps achieve consistent mechanical properties and reliable heat treatment results.

Casting and Heat Treatment

Before pouring, we develop the casting process based on the weight, size, and structure of the casting. For large or complex castings, casting simulation can be used to analyze metal flow and solidification. This helps identify potential defects such as shrinkage and porosity. The pouring process can then be adjusted as needed.
During pouring, we control the temperature and pouring speed according to the casting requirements. After the casting has solidified, heat treatment is carried out based on the material grade and technical specifications.

Machining and Dimensional Control

After heat treatment, the casting moves to the machining stage. Large steel castings are often heavy and oversized. Proper workholding and machining sequences help reduce deformation and maintain key dimensions.
Machining usually starts with rough machining to remove excess material. Precision machining follows to control key dimensions, mating surfaces, and geometric tolerances.
For steel castings such as large girth gears, ball mill heads, hollow shafts, and bearing housings, machining accuracy is important for proper assembly and equipment operation. Key dimensions are checked against the customer's drawings during machining.

Final Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing

Inspection is carried out throughout the production process. It is not limited to the final stage.
Depending on the customer's technical requirements and the type of casting, inspection may include:
  1. Chemical composition testing
  2. Mechanical property testing
  3. Dimensional inspection
  4. Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
  5. Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  6. Visual inspection
  7. Heat treatment inspection
For projects with special inspection requirements, we can carry out testing according to the customer's standards and technical documents. Inspection data and records are kept for product traceability.
